Heartland is proud to support the development and launch of the Stakeholder Engagement Guide beta version, part of the Investor HREDD Precision Tools website. This tool was developed in collaboration with Rights CoLab, EIRIS Foundation, and ESG Inteligente – Consultoria em Direitos Humanos e Sustentabilidade, with generous support from Humanity United, The Generation Foundation, and Global Commons Alliance.
The Guide helps investors assess the quality of their portfolio companies’ engagement with affected stakeholders and rights holders – the heart of effective human rights and environmental due diligence (HREDD).
Grounded in authoritative standards, the Guide introduces 4 Pillars of meaningful stakeholder engagement and 7 Stakeholder Engagement Effectiveness Criteria to evaluate whether engagement is robust, reciprocal, and secure.
It also enables investors to spot areas for improvement while evaluating how well companies integrate stakeholder feedback into their risk management processes.
