On Wednesday, April 30th, at 10am ET / 3pm UK / 4pm CET, Heartland Initiative, the Investor Alliance for Human Rights (IAHR), and PeaceNexus Foundation will host a webinar to launch their new investor resource: Navigating Portfolio Exposure to Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas: Practical Guidance for Investor Engagement Companies.
As global conflicts and human rights violations intensify, investors are increasingly seeking effective strategies to manage portfolio exposure to conflict-affected and high-risk areas (CAHRA). In response, Heartland, IAHR, and PeaceNexus launched the Investor Engagement on CAHRA Pilot Project. This multi-year initiative aims to equip institutional investors with guidance to engage companies in the technology and renewable energy sectors on managing CAHRA-related risks, while also providing insights into evolving good practice and persistent challenges within these industries.
The resulting report offers practical, rights-based guidance to help investors and companies navigate today’s complex geopolitical landscape.
Key learnings include:
- Identifying, assessing, and prioritizing CAHRA risks in portfolios by addressing the intersection of salient human rights impacts and material financial risks.
- Strengthening investor-company engagement on CAHRA-related risks.
- Emerging good practices and lessons learned from corporate dialogues, highlighting current approaches and challenges in the tech and renewable energy sectors.
The webinar will feature:
- A brief overview of the new Guidance.
- A panel discussion with investors who participated in the Pilot Project.
- An open Q&A session with the audience.
