On March 21, 2024, Mallory Miller from Heartland participated in a panel discussion titled “The Saliency-Materiality Nexus: A Practical Approach to Identifying Severe and Systemic Human Rights Risks in Investment Portfolios” at the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility’s Spring Conference.
During the session, the panelists presented an exclusive preview of a white paper, co-authored by Heartland, Wespath Benefits and Investments, and Schroders. The paper outlines how salient human rights and material risks intersect in an increasingly turbulent world. The panel also discussed strategies for operationalizing this approach as part of responsible stewardship.
Mallory was joined on the panel by Nicole Lee (Miller/Howard Investments), Lucas Schoeppner (Wespath), and Whitney Sweeney (Schroders).
